How Do I receive services?
PRESCREENING FOR ELIGIBILITY
To find out if you are eligible to receive services at the Free Medical Clinic, you must come to the Clinic to pre-screen for eligibility. Pre-screening for eligibility is available:
Monday afternoon between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday afternoon between 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
(Spanish Interpreter available)
Thursday evening between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
No appointment is necessary for eligibility screening.

NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENTS
To make your first appointment once you become eligible, please call (540) 536-1680 on Thursday morning to schedule a New Patient Appointment during the Thursday Evening Acute Clinic. New patient appointments with a doctor for non-emergency medical services are available during the Thursday Evening Acute Clinic. This is not a walk-in clinic; appointments are required. Patients should call early in the day to get an appointment for that same evening. Patients who need to speak to someone in Spanish should call Thursday afternoon between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. for non-emergency medical services. You may be referred by your visit provider to the Daytime Clinic for follow up with a nurse practitioner.
SERVICES FOR CURRENT PATIENTS
After your first visit at the Acute Clinic, you may receive routine non-emergency medical care during the Daytime Clinic. You may be referred by a Daytime Clinic provider for specialty medical care. Services include:
• Daytime Clinic Visit with the Nurse Practitioner
You must be referred by a nurse, nurse practitioner or doctor to be able to use this service. Daytime appointments are available Monday – Thursday. Limited sick appointments are available during the Daytime Clinic.
• Gynecology and Women’s Health, Diabetes Management, and Behavioral Health
Patients must be referred by a Free Medical Clinic nurse, nurse practitioner or doctor to be able to use these services.
• Adult Dental – Extractions Only
Patients who need to have a tooth pulled should call the Dental Clinic at 540-536-1684. Your name will be placed on a waiting list and you will be notified when an appointment becomes available.
